An Evening of Wine & Chocolate
Some say it can’t be done, pairing wine with chocolate, however, if you carefully select the right wine to match the chocolate, the match can be absolutely delicious. As chocolate ranges from delicate white, through milk to dark bittersweet, there are a number of wine matches that may surprise you. We’ll sip, snap and sip again, as we follow our expert and experience these tastes and if you enjoy tasting wine you just might be surprised, at our Wine & Chocolate Tasting on February 12th..
Our tasting guide for the evening, will be Pauline Rankin, owner of Le Feuvre’s Chocolatier on Mount Pleasant Road, in Toronto. She and her husband hand make chocolates in small batches, using traditional methods and premium quality Callebaut chocolate from Belgium.
Pauline will cover the history, the various types and tastes, then take us good chocolate tasting techniques with the wine flights. Everyone will get a copy of the Hershey Chocolate Tasting Wheel along with the tasting mat, especially created for this event. Come out and explore these two great pleasures of life.
We will be back at the University of Toronto Faculty Club, 41 Willcocks Street on U of T campus, just south of Spadina and Harbord Streets. Reception at 6:30 p.m., tasting at 7:00 p.m.
You can also join the AWS or renew your membership online, and you're entitled to the member price for this event as long as we receive your membership payment before the event.

The Australian Wine Society (AWS) of Toronto is a not-for-profit organization devoted to the enjoyment of the wines of Australia. Through exposure to, and education about the wines and wine regions of Australia, the Society seeks to encourage, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a greater awareness of the wine varietals, the diversity and the styles of Aussie wines. The opportunity to try a wide range of wines makes it easier for members to decide what types they might want to purchase through wine agents, the LCBO, Vintages monthly releases and the Classics Catalogue.
